1. Always Plan In Advance!
Underwood agrees that a healthy lifestyle isn’t exactly easy for those who are always on the go. It takes a lot of discipline, effort and motivation. So whenever she needs to travel, Underwood will always make it for an additional day, in order to avoid jet lag. “You have to plan things out and think ahead,” she says.

A simple way to start is by investing in a journal that you can keep with you at all times. As it is a great way to jot down any of your fitness routines or health plans when you have a few minutes to spare. Even if you only devote ten minutes of your time to it. As soon as you get to your hotel, do the workout!
2. Even If You Don’t Feel Like Exercising, Just Do Something!
We know that not every place you travel to has its own gym set-up. However, that shouldn’t stop you from working out. Your body in itself is a gym. It is very easy to do bodyweight workouts wherever you are and with whatever you have.
Tabata workouts are Underwood’s favourite, as they allow her to get a great workout in a short period of time. One Tabata routine is only four minutes.

And if you’re not winded after these four minutes, you need to push yourself harder. Otherwise, you can try planking, lunges, crunches, or any other exercises that do not require equipment.
3. Healthy And Easy Recipes Are The Way To Go.
The thing to do is to keep it clean and simple! Underwood is committed to eating as healthily as possible and when she doesn’t, she feels terrible the following day. For her day-to-day meals, she tries to keep her vegan cooking simple.
She recommends stir-fry’s with tofu, vegetables and rice. Being a mother on top of her day job, everything has to be quick and easy and breakfast her biggest meal of the day. One of her favourite options is steel-cut oats, a little maple syrup and berries, toasted with Earth Balance vegan butter and some breakfast potatoes. For lunch, she enjoys grains such as quinoa or brown rice with vegetables and tofu. For dinner, she sticks to protein and vegetables.

4. Work out while you explore.
Underwood believes that you can always go for a walk or a jog, no matter where you are in the world! Particularly, if you travel frequently. Most of the time, when you travel for business, you don’t get a chance to see much of the country you’re visiting. So taking the time to explore your surroundings a little gives you a great opportunity to get some exercise.
Underwood is always dedicated to working out and maintaining healthy habits. Her discipline and motivation are admirable, and we can definitely learn a thing or two from her. The biggest piece of advice to take is to ensure that you always stay hydrated- she cannot emphasize this enough.
